Comments and how they can effect people.

I feel that as an Artist in general I have made leaps and bounds compared to where I once was a few years ago, I'm learning so much so quickly it's hard to keep up the pace sometimes, and I'm always looking for inspirational things to help me through it all so I never toss in the towel when feeling overwhelmed in the face of it, which leads me to the next part to this journal. :D

I find it kind of impersonal and fake sometimes when folks post one word or an emoticon whenever I post something new in my gallery.

"Awesome", "cool", "Uber" and other such words that don't really say much in terms of what the art means to them when they look at it, I kinda wanna know how it makes them feel, does it inspire them somehow, or maybe excite them somehow I don't know lol.

The thing I have to admit that bugs me the most though is when folks say my art looks like this or that, or... It reminds me of this and that.(refer to my signature pretty please :D)

[I do art because it's therapy. It keeps me sane in an insane world. I don't do requests because I'd end up doing hundreds. For me DA is a free gallery to show off my art. It's not Facebook or Myspace to me. My gallery's an extension of myself.]

Let's be honest for a moment. Alot of folks here on DA don't really know how to give an honest critique or say anything really inspiring when writing a comment about a freshly uploaded piece of art.

Primarily they are either too busy ot too tired (which I understand it happend to all of us) But some just don't know anything else and they treat the site like some kind of social networking site like Skype, Twitter, or myspace.

it really isn't hard to write something or maybe even give the occasional pointer if you see something that needs improving upon. (just make sure it's inspiring to the individual and not attacking or humiliating to them).

But please for the love of all that I hold dear don't patronize me and what I do by simply saying Awesome! or posting goofy emoticons I don't understand.

I really hope I'm not sounding like a jerk here and if I am I'm truly sorry(It's not my intention to hurt feelings I swear) but still, most of you are pretty well educated I'd like to think all of you have a great way with words especially those of you who just write poetry or stories and post those in your gallery(which to me is still considered an art in itself).

I can't learn or be inspired if nobody really says anything that can maybe help me evolve further as an artist. so please my friends try to work on that a bit. :)

I personally enjoy your art because of your use of color. I am also impressed with your ability to draw on the computer. Your art is cutting edge and I enjoy seeing it!

Deviant Art isn't just for artists, it is also for craft makers, sculpters, 3d modellers, writers and anything else that is creative or anything deemed 'artsy'.

i lol'ed at your idiocy. Drawing isn't the only form of art. The other activities you described are also considered art. There's a reason why arts are numbered (7th art for the movies, 9th art for comic books in general and so on).

But you are correct in saying that deviant art is not just for artists, there are also those that just joined to keep track of their favorite artists and to browse galleries for fun.

@Frank: I agree with you on the comments functionality "awesome" is just worthless if it doesn't say a proper "why". Also, sorry i couldn't say anything about this sooner, but i hope you wife gets well soon, and seriously, change your bank.

which is why I said it's for Artists.

Anything creative is considered to be an "ART Form" which in turn dubs them an "Artist".

Thanks you kindly, and you are one of the main reasons I continue to always create, you are always motivating me to never quit and never give up even when all feels hopeless.

At least I am as honest as any person I have known in my entire life. Your artwork gives me joy and I always look forward to the next one whenever you have the time to submit another. Your Transformers work seems to be better than Derrick's, but not as in good best, but still good.
Consider me one of your fans of your fantastic artwork. I enjoy it just as much as I enjoy everyone else's and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. All that matters is that you cherish your work, no matter what. Your work is special, and no one can do such a thing as well as you can.

Well, when something rly interest me, like Supernova or Wingblade Optimus, I will talk about it because it is very, very great job. I will say you a truth, you are the best TFA Artist which I found there.¨Others, which for example make a Bublebee, Ratchet, Optimus, they simply take a "official image" and simply post it, or with some minor improvements. There are few, which draw them, but theirs dont look that great like a original. But you, you are a champion in it. When I will dont know that you werent in TFA as a worker, I will say that you are in. That great is your work.

I must suppose that I am a little sad because you dont maked Mixmaster and Scrapper, but you had your own problems, and I dont had a rights to demanding it. I will silently wait for anything you post and what rly impress me :)

Well, I always say, do something for yourself, if someone else likes it too, then that's just gravy...

Speaking of myself, if I love something I will say something, if I like it, I'll just fave, if I think there's something off I'll do my best to say what it is...
